About the Artist
Katie Montgomery was raised in Cecil County, Maryland where she discovered her love of the arts at an early age. In 1999, she attended Delaware College of Art & Design, majoring in photography. Two years later, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia and continued her study of photography at the Atlanta College of Art. While at ACA, Katie also pursued her interests in printmaking including Screen Printing, Intaglio, and bookmaking. She earned her BFA in Photography with a minor in Printmaking. In 2007, she returned to Delaware where she now lives with her husband and son.
Over the last 15 years, she has participated in multiple group exhibits in galleries including MOCA GA in Atlanta and the DCCA in Wilmington. She has worked in various fields such as 18/19th century painting and frame restoration, digital restoration, custom framing and digital reproduction. Katie is currently exploring the transfer and manipulation of photographs onto wood as well as metal mediums. She is constantly exploring new ways to demonstrate her creativity which continues to be her passion. |
